You Are My Voice…..

Genesis 1:26         And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Let’s start by defining one of the meanings of let us make man in our “image, after our likeness”.   Let’s define it as the creation of man who possesses the character and nature of God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. God’s intent was for Man to be “fruitful and multiply” – spreading God’s likeness all over the earth.    Had it worked out that way it would have been “Heaven on Earth”.    However, we know the rest of the story. Adam and Eve opened the door to sin, and life as they knew it changed.   The consequence of “you shall surely die” kicked in and lead to them first dying “spiritually” and then later physically.   The fellowship and intimacy between God and man changed. Dying “spiritually” meant that they lost their intimacy with God.

Thankfully, because of God’s GREAT Love for us, He had a plan of redemption for mankind. Jesus was sent to earth as a man to provide a “way” back into fellowship with Him – a way to re-connect with God “spiritually”.    As with Adam and Eve, each of us are given the right of “choice”.    We will either believe God or the deception of satan.

John 14:6        Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.    This means that Jesus is the only way back into relationship with our Father (GOD) at the “spiritual” level – meaning the decision comes from the “Heart” (your spirit).   This is NOT about our intellect. (Intellect produces “legalism”; whereas Heart produces “Christ-likeness“) .   Just as babies are born and taught for a period of years to become responsible adults, the born-again “baby” is to begin the process of learning and growing into responsible adults “in the Spirit” – living and demonstrating God’s character and nature.    What is in need of consideration is, at an individual level, where are you?

Well, this may have gotten a little heavy;   but this is what is on God’s heart for you today.    Just as a foundation is important when building a house, so is the foundation for our “spiritual” house.
